I did some hand-applique on my DH's Civil War quilt borders. . .
I also started another hand-applique project:
They're not sewn down yet but the freezer paper/starch method I love has them all ready to be.
And this beautiful stack of Civil War fabric (took me a while but I'm hooked on the colors and 'flavor' of it) are for a June Mystery Retreat my quilting buddies and I will be going to.
Check out what everyone else has on THEIR design walls over at Judy's Blog.

Pretty CW prints! And your applique start looks so nice. Lots of layering there, looks like. Have fun on your retreat!
Lovely applique! Very intricate! Thank you for visiting my blog yesterday. Glad you like my quilt and I will be posting pictures of the finished Easter dresses.

The applique project is going to be very pretty. I wish I could do a good job with the starch method. I just don't spend enough time practicing it. I do needle turn instead.
Love both your projects, but especially the bouquet. So pretty.
Nice!! I love the flower, looks great. Heard it will be 79 by Thursday so maybe things will dry up a bit. Those Civil War prints are not my cup of tea either but you never know, I can grow to love just about any fabric.
I llke your applique piece. It is just gorgeous! Wish my hands worked well enough to do good hand applique because I love it. The Civil War fabric is also good looking. Should make a fine looking quilt.
I love your applique' projects. The applique' border will be great. Nice Civil War fabrics. They will be good stash builders???
