of finished tops never to be heard from again! Yet,
Judy's encouragement has some sort of magic effect on me and I'm actually finishing projects!
I loved this quilt top, begun in 2008 at a "Strip Club" (tee-hee) in Sacramento. Why didn't I finish it? Same reason as always: I hate to pin! Love to piece, love to quilt, love to hand stitch binding, hate to pin! And another thing I did that is astonishing: I marked this quilt before I quilted it! I don't like to mark (takes too much time for a peddle-to-the-metal quilter like me--that, and the fact that I've always had trouble "coloring inside the lines") so I'd rather just wing it with free-motion quilting. Here's a little detail of my "fancy" quilting for this quilt though:
Once again, thanks to Judy for the support! (Peer pressure from the other fabulous quilters on Judy's blog doesn't hurt either!)

That's beautiful, Diane. Congratulations on another finish. I got side tracked by a sock monkey tutorial and then a sock bunny. And then there was the cute little pot holders and then the new knitted scarf pattern the list goes on. Finishing is hard! Good job.
Beautiful quilt! I love the colors and your quilting. (Uh oh, this UFO challenge has been good for me too, except that my list of quilts I want to make is getting longer with each passing month!)
Congrats on the finish - I have that pattern too and look forward to making it.
Isn't it a great feeling to get things finished!! It is a beautiful quilt....enjoy the good feeling!
Love your quilt top and your quilting. Very nice in those colors. Judy C
Really pretty! Congrats on finishing a lovely quilt! Isn't it funny what stops us? For me it is the borders--the rest just flies by. This UFO Challenge has really made a difference for me too!
Lovely!
In the thumbnails our quilts look very similar... same shape and color placement.... Good for you in 3 for 3!!! I like your quilt too.
I began this quilt in N CA... (Paradise/Chico), it's a long way from there now though.
You did a great job! It's really lovely. I know what you mean about basting, and Patsy Thompson's spray basting technique has changed my quilting life!
Well, it turns out that you're a great "stripper" (teehee). That's a gorgeous finish ... congratulations!
Way to go, Diane! What a beautiful finish.
Beautiful! Congrats on ANOTHER finish...way to go!
